June 30 Member Update
“Every week I'm having some kind of meeting or discussion on bringing back the Sonics.” Mayor Bruce Harrell told Komo News’ Chris Daniels on June 28, “You're gonna see this summer, for example, a lot of Sonic buzz. We need to signal to the NBA that we want a team. We know this is a good market. We know you have a good fan base. But now as mayor, I've been asked by a lot of people to get the buzz rolling.”
On June 25th more than 90 local leaders, artists, athletes and business owners gathered at the historic home headquarters of Sub Pop Records to launch Seattle NBA Fans, a volunteer coalition dedicated to supporting the return of the NBA to Seattle, the nation’s 14th largest media market.
Megan Jasper, CEO of Sub Pop joined Ben Gibbard(DCFC & The Postal Service), Tom Buckley(COO of Caffe Vita) and SNF co-founders Kristen Akers, Miles DeCaro and Brian Robinson in a discussion about the BEST CASE SCENARIO for NBA Expansion and MAXIMIZE THE POSITIVE IMPACT of a possible Sonics return.
Seattle NBA Fans intends to announce it’s founders board and advisory committee membership in the weeks ahead.
