Massive Monkees has been recognized by the City of Seattle as being a cornerstone of the Seattle artist culture and was awarded an official "Massive Monkees Day" in Seattle in 2004 and 2013 for their extensive work in the community. For the past 15 years, Massive Monkees has been producing an annual event called Massive Monkees Day to honor their day proclaimed by the City of Seattle. Over the years, the event grew from a local event (first edition held at Jefferson Community Center) to one of the most recognized events globally in the hip-hop community, attracting talents from all over the world. Since 2021, the main event has been co-produced by STG (Seattle Theater Group) and held at the Neptune Theater.
